The 2009 Big Ten Championship game, Purdue vs. Ohio State. The Buckeyes upset Michigan State in the semi-finals to set up this championship game. A loss at Ohio State early in the season, followed by a huge wins at home in the late season added to the intrigue. Despite shooting for a far worse percentage, Purdue claimed victory by playing the hard-nosed defense that got them to the finals in the first place, led by Chris Kramer. E’Twaun Moore drained five 3-pointers in the game, sealing the Boilermaker victory. Robbie Hummel added 9 points and 33 minutes, proving his back was healthy enough for a run into the national tournament, where Purdue earned a 5th seed.
