It may just be the best movie of the summer (although I didn’t see it until now). Made with a tiny budget of only 30 Million USD, district nine is in my humble opinion an oasis in a desert of unoriginality.  It turns everything Hollywood does for the traditional summer blockbuster, forgets it. Instead it does things its own way. Take the violence for example. Most big name summer movies try to tone down the violence in an effort to cater to a larger audience. Not D9. D nine has people blowing into little bit. And they do it a lot. That’s not to say it’s a mindless action movie. The plot in it is engrossing and much more thought provoking then any other movie of this summer.
