A Day to Remember
Did you ever have one of those days, wherein from the time you get up till the time you get to bed every thing goes wrong! Well, I had one such day. It was a day filled with activity for the children. They had a fancy dress competition in the morning and had to go for a singing competition in the evening.
I got them ready for the fancy dress and took them to the venue. I was told that they would finish with the children’s program first and then go on to the felicitation of the chief guests. The program started at 11a.m. and till 13:00 we were still waiting. The children were so hungry and started getting restless. So, many of us parents took the children back home.
With that disappointment I told my kids that we will get ready for the second function. That was to start at 17:00 hrs. We were at the venue at 16:30hrs and no one was around. We asked around and they said people were yet to come. So we waited. At 17:00hrs someone tells me it will start at 18:00hrs. I was livid as I was told just the previous day by the same person that it was at 17:00 hrs. Anyway for what it was worth, we waited and the competition started. My daughter was too tired; with eyes half closed she sang and eventually forgot a few words in the middle.
I was just glad that the day ended and hoped that I would never have to face such a day again.
